Usually on Fridays I would be posting my Friday Five but this week I have some really big news I want to share instead! Recently I applied to be a part of a relay team that will run across the US beginning in April. The relay team consists of 18 runners that will cover 3,100 miles across America. Each runner is assigned a segment to run that consists of a marathon distance every day for 6 consecutive days. That’s about 160 miles per runner! You might be asking why someone would want to do this? In this case each runner commits to fundraising $10,000 over ten months that goes towards an awesome organization – the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, to help fund research. My family has been touched by this disease so this opportunity holds a special place in my heart.
Yesterday I received confirmation in the mail that I have been selected to join the 2015 relay team! I feel honored and blessed to be invited to join the team of amazing runners. It is without a doubt that I accept this invitation! I am excited to be given this opportunity to run for those who can’t. I can’t wait to find out which segment I get assigned to! I can’t wait to share this new journey with you. Look for more information to come!
