Phoenix marathon training is in full swing. I’m pretty much at the peak of my training schedule through the next few weeks. My schedule has been hectic the past two weeks, making it hard to fit in some of these longer runs. I’ve been running at odd hours of the day, for me. My body doesn’t like it much. Some of the runs have been a struggle to complete at the pace I’m working towards. This has been a good reminder to me that it’s important to change things up. Running at different times of the day often produces different results. I run my best in the mornings, but that wasn’t always the case. I used to be an afternoon/after work runner. Lately, I’ve been forced to run several of my training runs late in the evenings. I know that this challenge is making me a stronger runner and getting me closer to my goal.
Speaking of changing things up, what have you done lately that is outside of your comfort zone? I was recently asked to join a friend for an activity that was completely outside of my comfort zone, rock wall climbing. Stay tuned for my next post where I share my experience! Until then, let me know what you are doing that is outside of your regular routine to get you closer to your goals?
