Week 6 of Operation 165
What an amazing week this turned out to be! A few weeks ago the Omaha World Herald contacted me wanting to write an article about my journey. I thought the journey they were talking about was the 165-mile trek I will be taking this summer. Turned out they were interested in hearing about my weight loss transformation, and how it all led to my becoming a personal trainer and how I got involved with the MS Run the US relay. The article was published Sunday in their Live Well magazine with my picture on the front page! I have been blown away at all of the support and feedback I have received from people who have read the article. Here’s a link to it if you’d like a give it a read.
This couldn’t have come at a better time. We all go through periods of personal struggle, and I have been battling a few demons in my closet recently. This was a great reminder to me, of how far I really have come. I had lost sight of the time where running a mile or completing an hour workout was unthinkable. And now I often complete both in the same day. Sometimes we get caught up in the now, that we forget to stop and recognize our success and enjoy them. This article reminded me to look back at where I was, and look at where I am today. It’s been a long, difficult journey – but with some of the biggest payoffs!
One thing the article doesn’t touch on much is the support I’ve received from my friends and family in this process. I have been blessed with a great support system. My husband, mom, and kids cheering me on daily and pick up extra chores at home. They push me to be better every day. I would never have had the courage to get my personal trainer certification without the push from the staff at the Pinnacle Club – Lori and Shaula. They have both been wonderful mentors to me. My clients and members in classes inspire me every day, every class, every training session.
I am so grateful for these blessings in my life. My journey has led me to a pretty great place. Thank you to each and every person who has supported me along the way.
Operation 165 Training – I took the workouts down a touch the past two weeks. The added strength training was whooping my backside a bit. My body is starting to adapt and adjust, so I’ll be looking to go beast mode this week! Here’s a recap of my workouts for week 6.
